Sweet things are made of this - ICT Asia 2022

A selection of "after-meal" treats were featured throughout the expo. It's eye-catching packaging, or the inspiration of its original food, these products caught my attention.

Denzy - Started by a couple, this artisanal gelato brand debuted in a cafe within the residential area. Denzy carried a wide range of flavours such as pistachio and black sesame, and even a Keto and Vegan range!

I felt that the flavour range were appealing, such that I can't wait to try them all! The gelato was creamy and melts slowly, without any graininess from ice crystals. The flavour was also strong yet natural, well incorporating the actual ingredient into the gelato (such as Sicilian pistachio).

Bolt chocolatier - Hand made chocolate from Korea, with shiny, gold gilded packaging. I tested the chocolate bar, it was bursting with nuts but overly sweet for me. For a less-sweet treat, get the chocolate-coated cocoa nibs - they were bitter yet fragrant, and was crunchy with every bite.

Teck huat & company - Attraction was the "Lifeguard" brand condensed milk, which was a long-time brand in SG. The rep shared that during WW2, the founder saved 2 Australians by hiding them in the attic. Out of gratitude, they gave the condensed milk recipe & license of manufacture to the founder.

(I can't corroborate the story since as I am unable to find an online source, but maybe older generations would be able to recognise this brand?)

There were also "branded" cups & bags, and their new plant-based drink range, on display. The company also has other business services, such as wine distribution and luxury yacht services. A taste test of the oat drink would be posted in the future!

Chupa chup - Colourful & attention grabbing product, the iconic lollipop brand seen on a can! The rep shared that this product is only sold in the EU, but is licensed to manufacture in Korea. When asked, they were neither looking for a distributor, nor selling, in Singapore. What could be the true purpose of this booth then..?
