Food with a dash of special - SFFA 2022

Along with the usual food and beverage products, there were some companies whose offerings were catered to a niche consumer group. Not commonly seen in Singapore, these booths caught my attention immediately. Such as pretty garnishes, overseas produce, and special "kueh" kits.

Nosh flower - I was charmed by the delicate splashes of colour on the white ceramic plate, and pots of herbs on the side! Nosh grows elegant flowers & herbs as garnishes, cultivated indoors in a hydroponics system. I got to try some herbs: Sorrel (refreshing sour, like lemon) & Mustard green (spiced wasabi note with a nutty aftertaste), and a flower: Lisianthus (sweet and mild floral).

Myanmar tea leaf pickle - I had not known tea leaves were edible until I was given a sample to try: Tea leaf pickle - Delightful! It has been cooked and seasoned with lots of spices, making it fiery but so addictive. Pairs even better with nuts and vegetable that is sold in a set. Stay tuned for the review of this pickle.

Dates - A company showcasing dates from Algeria. Very moist and succulent, the texture almost felt soggy. It wasn't sticky like Medjool dates, and the pit just fell off after biting into the flesh. I also sampled a date stuffed with hazelnut powder, enhancing the sweetness of the Algerian dates!

Nuvojoy - A brand that offers Low-GI versions of Asian desserts (Also known as "kueh") so that diabetics can enjoy old treats! Such as kueh bangkit, kueh lapis, soy pudding, etc. They also carry natural food dyes derived from natural sources, such as pumpkin & beetroot.
