Beyond the ingredients: SFFA trade show highlights

Just 1 month after the previous show, comes another gathering of foodies and the industry - the Specialty & Fine Food Asia! Held at the (more accessible) Suntec convention centre, this show is aimed at distributors and professional chefs.

Most booths showcased shelf-stable products that are "organic" and "natural", country pavilions representing many local brands etc. As with a trend of healthy & sustainable protein, there were alternative protein brands as well!

To prepare for my trip, I scoured the organizer's website.. but couldn't find a floorplan of the exhibitors! It was inconvenient to plan and target the companies that were of interest for my visit. The floorplan and name list were only available on-site, printed and mounted on a wooden display board.

The registration was smooth and very fast, just scan the QR code that was emailed prior to the event. Then your name tag on a lanyard, and you're ready to enter!

I would be highlighting some booths that had a unique concept, or applications that appealed to my needs. They could be categorised into this 3 broad areas:

Drinks  ||  Specialty  ||  Alternative meat

Next in the series: Healthy + functional = drinks
